Curt's sketchbook

Our personnel who serve in Ethiopia go without many of the luxuries you and I enjoy in the US.
. Water and electricity are sporadic at best. Communications with home-- phone, e mail, snail mail-- are very slow and undependable.

They never complain and love where they are and what they are doing, but we should never forget their sacrifices to serve there.

This is a sketch of a fine bucket bath.
The sketch of the clocks show the confusion of time in Ethiopia. There is "Ethiopian time" and "Faranji (foreigner) time, both observed in the country. They have a six hour difference. When asking the time or attending a meeting or event, you must clarify which of these times they are giving you. (The sketch for Ethiopian time should be 3 PM)
US Central time is 10 hours difference from Ethiopian time. I stayed confused the entire trip!
